The Bahrain Development Bank (BDB) has announced its participation at the Bahrain International Garden Show (BIGS), with a display showcasing various agricultural investment initiatives offered by the bank.
The BDB highlighted various agricultural support schemes provided by the bank within the Kingdom that Bahraini’s and expats alike can take advantage of, such as the fully subsided agricultural support schemes; which can reach up to BHD 15,000 in financing at a 0% interest rate.
The BDB stall at BIGS is also displaying local agricultural produce from the ‘Hoorat A’ali Farmer’s Market’ – a local partnership between The Bahrain Development Bank, Ministry of Municipalities and Urban Planning and Urban Planning and Agricultural Affairs (MUN) and Mubadara.
The Farmer’s Market aims to establish an agricultural ecosystem that encourages and revitalises the growth of Bahraini crops, and at the same time empower Bahraini farmers.
The stall also features a stunning selection of locally grown flowers, dates and seasonal fruits that are being distributed in eco-friendly and locally woven packaging.
On discussing the BDB’s participation at BIGS, Mr Sanjeev Paul, the Bahrain Development Bank Group CEO added, “The Bahrain Development Bank is proud to support not only Bahraini startups and SME’s, but also the Kingdom’s agricultural sector. The Kingdom’s agricultural sector is growing vastly over the years, and BDB want to be a part of the sector’s development and the Kingdom’s economic diversification. Our presence at the Bahrain International Garden Show is a representation of our commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s future in environmental and agricultural innovation”.
