In line with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to support the national economy and enhance customer support, Bahrain Development Bank announces the availability of a finance installment deferment option for eligible customers.

This initiative enables eligible customers to defer their finance installments, including both principal and profit amounts, for a period of up to three (3) months, providing additional flexibility in managing their financial commitments.

During the deferment period, profit will continue to accrue in accordance with the terms of the existing facility. No additional fees will be applied for requesting the deferment.

Eligible customers may submit their requests through their account relationship manager or by visiting any of the Bank’s branches.

BDB Finance Deferment – (FAQs)

It is an option that allows eligible customers to postpone their finance installment payments for a period of up to 3 months.

The deferment is available to eligible customers only, with active and performing finance or financing facilities, subject to bank approval.

You can request the deferment by submitting a filled form to your account relationship manager or by visiting any of the Bank’s branches.

You are required to submit the request at least 10 days prior to the deferred installment date

No, your monthly installment amount will remain the same. However, the finance period will be extended accordingly.

Interest or profit, and insurance fees will continue to be accrued during the deferment period, in line with the terms of your existing facility.

Yes, the deferment applies to both the principal and profit amounts of your financing installments.

No, there are no additional fees for requesting the deferment.

Once all required documents are submitted, the Bank will approve your request within 10 business working days, subject to internal approvals.

The Bank will accept deferment applications during the application window from Sunday, 19 April 2026 to Thursday, 23 April 2026.
