Job Title: Infrastructure & Security Administrator

JOB PURPOSE

• The role holder is responsible for the design, installation, setup, configuration and maintenance of security and communication software, hardware, and components to ensure that network performance meets business and user needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Responsibility

• Installs, sets-up, configures, and monitors the security software, hardware, and components including core Anti-Virus, endpoint protection, log monitoring systems, VA/PT scanner etc.
• Adheres to BDB’s lifecycle procedures and guidelines for design, selection, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise security framework as well as change management processes.
• Monitors BDB’s systems for any suspicious activity or security alerts, and provides problem resolution where needed.
• Diagnoses and resolves problem or error encountered with security software, hardware, and components, as well as replaces defective components (as necessary) on a timely basis to minimize disruptions to business operations as well as escalate problems as necessary.
• Coordinate and escalate major issues to the network providers to ensure fast resolution and manage the SLA with the providers.
• Maintains an updated the security documentation.
• Ensures timely implementation of assigned IT planned and Ad hoc projects in compliance with security best practices.
• Works closely with the infrastructure team and the Information Security Officer to implement security baseline and best practices.

Self - Management Responsibilities

• Defines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the year.

• Identifies the training and development requirements for self and agrees on them with the reporting manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attended.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering.

• Strong knowledge of IT networks.
